摘要

The oasis of Ouargla basin endures a phenomenon of groundwater rise. This latter is responsible for the salinisation and formations of gypsum crusts which constitute in the whole of hydro-saline and mechanical stress for the date palm growth. The present work of research proposes a study of the effect of this stress on the rooting and productivity of 'Deglet Noor' palm date. The results show that the hydro-edaphic environment is characterised by the variable levels of groundwaters and crusts. The rising level of this latter generates a limitation and deformation of root to the cultivar. It emerges that the elevation of hydro-saline and mechanical stress levels provoke a yield decrease. It seems that the hydro-edaphic environment becomes more stressful for date palms growth and productivity when we come nearer to the bottom of the Ouargla basin.
