Despite the number of apprentices moving back in the province, there is still a shortage. The current Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) training programs trains students for the car repair industry. While trucks are covered under the same rules, they do not all apply. So, when Doug Dickie, manager, Nova Truck Centres, is looking for new people, he usually hires a car guy or gal with plans to further train them.
