Cefic Urges EU to Review REACH Program

The european Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) is urging the European Commission (EC) to conduct a fundamenta review of its plans for testing and evaluating chemcials, which the association says are unworkable. Officials at the EC's environemtn and enterprise directorates are reported to have given up their summer holidays to process around 3,500 responses to an Internet draft text on a plan for the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH).
