Dow begins operations at Texas propylene facility

Dow Chemical has announced that its new world-scale propane dehy-drogenation unit (PDH) located at the company's Oyster Creek site in Free-port, Texas, has begun commercial operations. The unit is an important part of Dow's strategy to further integrate its US operations with cost-advantaged feedstocks from increasing supplies of US shale gas and enhance compe-tiveness of its Performance Materials, Consumer and Infrastructure Solutions businesses.
