Solvay opens alkoxylation plant in Singapore; expands oil & gas research lab unit

Belgium based chemicals major, Solvay, recently inaugurated its new large-scale alkoxylation plant in Singapore, to cater to growing demand for speciality surfactants in the region. The plant, which lays claim to being the largest of its kind in Asia, involves nearly Singapore dollar 50-mn "on-pipe" investment and will complement Solvay's existing India and China facilities. Solvay's Novecare business unit has seven other alkoxylation plants in Europe and North America.
