Toluene, mixed-Xylene, PTA firm up; Phenol, Acetone, IPA ease

The week under review saw downward revision in the prices of phenol an IPA while that of toluene and PTA witnessed upward movement. Fiber intermediates ruled steady. Toluene (Reliance) was up by Rs. 4.50 at Rs. 47.50 (basic) in bulk, while packed material ruled at Rs. 52.50 (basic). BPCL material was quoted at Rs. 47 (basic) in bulk. Imported toluene was up by Rs. 3-4 and quoted in the range of Rs. 47/48 in bulk. Benzene domestic was quoted Rs. 3 lower at Rs. 42 (basic), while BPCL's benzene ruled at Rs. 41.87 (basic) in bulk. Imported benzene ruled in the region of Rs. 41/43- per kg (basic).
