Mitsui Chemicals expands polypropylene production in US and Mexico

Japan's Mitsui Chemicals and Prime Polymer, a Mitsui Chemicals joint venture with Idemitsu Kosan, have announced plans to increase polypropylene (PP) production in the US and Mexico to meet growing demands of the automotive materials sector. Mitsui Chemicals subsidiary - Advanced Composites Inc - will expand PP production by 21,000-tpa in the US, while another subsidiary, Advanced Composites Mexicana S.A. de C.V, will raise PP capacity by 13,000-tpa in Mexico.
