A process for the production of end-products based on expanded polypropylene comprising the following phases: (a) pour and melt the polypropylene to obtain a molten polymer; (B) adding possible additives to the liquid polymer; (C) mixing the polymer with additives; (D) introducing the expanding agent CO2 into the molten polymer; (E) lowering the temperature to a value of about 160 immediately after the introduction of CO2 gas into the molten polymer; (F) extruding the molten polymer, the blowing agent and possible additives to produce an expanded polypropylene. This process is characterized in that pouring polypropylene and melted in phase a) consists of polypropylene containing an amount ranging between 15% and 25% polypropylene of high melt strength.
