Lilly expands biotech-based drug R&D capabilities

Eli Lilly and Company has announced completion of the first phase of a 560-mn expansion to its biotech complex in Indianapolis,US.The investment is part of a 1-bn effort to strengthen and build the company's biotechnology drug R&D capabilities.One of the major facilities opened after the first phase of construction is a state-of-the-art bio-products pilot manufacturing plant that will help the company bring advanced biotech medicines through more efficient manufacturing processes.
