Clariant sales down, earnings flat in third quarter

Clariant has announced sales of 1.4 billion Swiss francs (S1.4 billion) in the third quarter of 2016, a decrease of 1% year on year (YOY). Volumes were up 3% compared with the corresponding period in 201S. EBITDA before exceptional items was flat, Fr208 million. The EBITDA margin was 14.9% versus 14.7% one year ago. The results reflect ‘execution of our strategy to foster growth and improve returns despite the continued challenging economic environment,’ says CEO Hariolf Kottmann.
