Myriant, UPC, and Sojitz to develop biosuccinic acid-based plasticizers

Myriant (Quincy, MA), a renewable chemicals company, says that it has entered into a three-way joint development agreement with plasticizers producer UPC Technology (Taipei) and trading company Sojitz (Tokyo) to promote biosuccinic acid-based plasticizers. UPC will use Myriant's biosuccinic acid in the manufacture of biobased, phthalate-free plasticizers. The companies announced simultaneously that Sojitz—Myriant's sales and marketing partner—will work closely with UPC in sales of UPC's branded, biobased plasticizers.
