Chemical M&A Keeps Moving at a Healthy Clip

Chemical industry M&A activity advanced at a healthy pace in 2005,despite a decline in the number of deals completed compared to the previous year,according to data compiled by investment banking firm Young & Partners(Y&P;New York).A total of about US33 billion in deals valued at more than US25 million each were completed during the period,compared to US31 billion last year,Y&P says.The total volume of deals completed fell about 14%,to 73,it says.Ebitda valuations remained flat to slightly up compared to 2004,it adds.
