A development of high-voltage high-frequency static converters

Principles used for designing high-voltage high-frequency converters for Russian electrically driven suburb railway trains are outlined. These power electronic devices are used to convert an input 2000-4000 V.d. C. voltage into the power supply voltages for required on-board loads. The main technical characteristics of the converters developed are presented. The prospects for further development of high-voltage high-frequency converters for suburb trains, hyper-sound air-crafts, and space crafts are shown.
