Features of designing switched motors with tooth and toothless armature and different types of inductors are described, and a comparison of their maximum achievable specific response speeds is made. It is proven that the maximum specific load pickup capability is attained in switched motors with a tooth armature and a commutator-type inductor. However, when switched motors with tooth and toothless armatures operate on a heavy load, their specific load pickup capabilities are practically equal to each other. It is found that modulation of inductive parameters has a considerable effect on the smoothness of running of switched motors, especially in the zone of large loads. To improve the smoothness of running, it is advisable to make the inductor of the switched motor of arc-shaped magnets. Main technical data of motors for high-response speed applications, for example, for artificial blood circulation systems, are given.
