The tool has a switch (7) e.g. mechanical switch, including a magnet (24), which is guided by a switch rod (14). The magnet switches the switch into switching positions (S1, S2) in respective switching stages (SS1, SS2). A control device (4) i.e. printed circuit board, holds an electric motor in current-free manner in response to one of the switching positions (S1) of the switch, and activates the motor in response to another switching position (S2) of the switch. Another switch (6) e.g. bipolar switch, connects the control device with a power supply in the latter switching position. The power supply is a battery pack.
