Mucocutaneous Drug Reactions Panniculitis

Painful, erythematous plaques haderupted 4 to 6 weeks earlier on theleft upper arm and lower abdomi-nal wall of a 54-year-old woman. Thelesions had since increased in size andbecome more tender. The patient reported no trauma,fever, chills, sweats, arthralgias, myalgias,or weight change. Her past medical his-tory included embolic stroke, hyperten-sion, and intravenous substance abuse.While taking warfarin 1 year earlier, shehad been given one injection of vitaminK subcutaneously at each of the sites ofthe current lesions for a supratherapeuticinternational normalized ratio. Otherthan the plaques on her left arm and ab-dominal wall, physical examination find-ings were unrevealing.
