Problems of the efficient design of reduction gears with three and more stages are considered. It's shown that existing domestic and foreign reduction gears are noted for reduced loading capabilities because of some reasons. One of these reasons is designers intention to place all stages in one casing. Based on developed by author parametric row of three-staged reduction gears the two-casing design advantage for four- and six-staged reduction gears is shown. Examples illustrating real advantages of two-casing reduction gears in comparison with four-casing ones are given. It's shown that for three-staged designs the variant of one-casing reduction gear in accordance with standard size row is alternative one.
