Co-Ce-O films were fabricated by a metal-oxide co-electrodeposition method from a reaction solution including glycine. To avoid preparing the oxide and hydroxide of Co, glycine, which acts as a complexing agent for Co, was added. It was found, by ESCA measurement of the films, that metal Co and CeO_2 coexist in the co-electrodeposited films, that metal Co and CeO_2 coexist in the co-electrodeposited films. Coercivity of the films decreases, and magnetization of the films increases, with increasing concentration of glycine in the reaction solution.
