摘要

The bridge-connected magnetic circuit presented here is constructed with a pair of C-type cut cores and a U-form core. The cut cores are connected to each other through a small air gap, and the U-form core is bridge-connected at the center of cut cores. Magnetic resistance in the small part of the connection area of the cores increases when dc current in the control winding increases, because of the arrangement of cores and windings. The magnetic circuit, therefore, can easily provide continuous control of the inductance value of primary windings, using dc current. In this paper, we describe the fundamental operation of the bridge-connected magnetic circuit constructed using cut cores and its application to a variable inductor.
