Near Infrared Technologies have been recently come into wide use in aid of producing higher quality products efficiently in the petroleum refining processes. Under the circumstances, we have developed an on-line near infrared analyzer (On-line NIR) for gasoline blending facilities since 1994, and have succeeded utilizing it for an actual operation in Kashima Refinery, Japan. Hereinafter, we will introduce the examples and some trouble-shootings relating to On-line NIR application into gasoline blending processes.
