The laws of surface layer formation during electrospark alloying with tungsten containing electrode materials and its exploitational parameters were studied through the definition of values of mass transfer and energy saturation of the electrospark space, optical microscopy and mechanical tests. The regression equation, which connects the values of total cathode mass adoption and energy used in the inter-electrode space, was derived. This equation allows to effectively choose between treatment modes and most optimal electrode materials.
