摘要

The purpose of this study is to develope a computer aided design system based on expert's knowledge for die casting die design which includes the positions and dimensions determination of runner, gate, overflow and air-vent in die casting die. The developed computer aided design system, combined with expert's design knowledge and computer aided design technology can aid the engineers in die casting industry to improve the design quality and efficiency for die casting die. To acquire the correct expert knowledge is the key to the establishment of a successful expert knowledge base system. This study tries to collect the information of design knowledge and design procedures from die casting experts, and then format these selected information into the forms that can be adapted by computer programming. With simulating the expert design procedures and using Visual Basic 4.0 program language, a executable computer program is completed. It is difficult for the pressent computer technology to distinguish the geometry of die castings model. This study attempts to utilize the geometry design criteria and graphic data base collected from die casting experts to reach correct die design by properly characterizing the geometry factor. Taking the advantage of the Windows 95 accessory software-Little Painter, the design results can be graphically displayed and output drawn easily. The developed system can be executed in PC computer under Windows 95 environment. This system can closely simulate the die casting expert design procedures. According to the suggestions offered by this system, engineers can obtain the die casting die design with the technique level of a sophisticated die casting expert.
