Structure Analysis of Dynamical Molecular Change in a Crystal by X-Rays

摘要

It has been long believed that only the static structures can be obtained by X-ray crystal structure analysis. However, synchrotron radiation, diffractometers for rapid data collection and development of analytical methods made it possible to observe the dynamical changes of molecular structures in the process of photo or thermal reactions or reactions with gas molecules. Giving several examples reported recently, a bright future of dynamical X-ray analysis will be proposed.
