Features of shoot regeneration and corn formation in vitro of Crocus vernus (L) Hill in Paulus Potter, Twinborn and Baron van Brunov cultivars were investigated. The examined cultivars differed in the rate of corm formation in the bases of shoots regenerated from shoot apexes and apical buds. The activity of morphogenetical processes in apexes was higher than in apical buds. In the process of cultivation apical buds, in contrast to shoot apexes, showed the excretion of phenolic substances into the medium and development of necroses. The analysis of results shows that apex culture is the most effective type for micropropagation of Crocus vernus, though we failed to overcome the prolonged rest period.
