Environmentally Symbiotic Housing(E.S.H.),is a concept dedicated to providing sound, comfortable housing while contributing to global environmental conservation. Through the intelligent application of information and technology, E.S.H. aims tominimize the intrusive impact of housing construction on the local environment so that residents can co-exist harmoniously with the surrounding flora and fuana.During the past six years, semi-public developers such as the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, have built more than 80 thousand E.S.H. multifamily units.This report offers a bird-eye view of the emerging foreign and domestic E.S.H. markets. Particular focus is placed on single family units. Changes in our way of thinking and our lifestyle will be necessary in order to revitalize the housing industry.We must not lose sight of the E.S.H. concept as we continue our efforts to upgrade housing products through research and development and new technical applications.
