摘要

The compression strength of thermoexfoliated graphite (TEG) is investigated in the compacted samples of various densities (from 1 to 2 g/cm~3) at the temperature 293K and 673K. The density dependence of strength shows a maximum, which has the position and magnitude dependent on temperature. The compression strength of compacted TEG is found to be decreased at heating to 673K and fallen sharply as the density is increased from 1.9 to 2.1g/cm~3. The model is proposed to describe the mechanism of TEG sample fracture. According to this model, the fracture of TEG samples occurs due to the increase of intrinsic pressure in closed voids under the application of external load and at increased temperature.
