In the production boron-containing master alloys two main problems arise-achievement of master alloy's maximal inoculation capability and maximal use of boron-containing raw material, The work addressed the problem: to evaluate the effect of the order of adding aluminum, titanium and boron to molten metal and the temperature conditions of the master alloy preparation process on boron assimilation from potassium tetrafluoroborate. On the basis of experiments it was found that the maximal boron assimilation from the salt is observed at combined addition of boron and titanium, the optimal temperature of running the process is 830…900 deg C.
