IHI has developed an analytical program based on the spring-mass model of a single mass multiple degree of freedom system for the design of foundation of vibrating machines. IHI has applied this analytical program to many actual problems, with the result that no vibration problem with foundations has been found. Measurements of the amplitude of vibration for BOG compressor and diesel generator delivered to clients were performed to increase the accuracy of the calculations. The results of measurement and analysis were compared with the analytical results, confirming the correctness of this method of analysis.
