Unconventional Testing and Modeling Methods for Composite Materials and Laminates

摘要

A number of unconventional testing and modeling methods for composites developed by the author are reviewed. Included are: 1) an oblique end tab suitable for testing off-axis coupon specimens, 2) a simple method for testing and modeling anisotropic nonlinear behavior of composites, and 3) a method for delaying premature free edge failure in testing notch strength in composite laminates containing a circular hole.
