Tobolsk Department of Oil Trunk Pipelines (DOTP) of Transneft Siberia, JSC, pumped about 244 MMT of crude, a nearly one half of all Russia's production last year. OPT magazine gives an account of the performance of this key unit in Russia's midstream industry. Tobolsk DOPT is managing five pipelines: Ust-Balyk — Omsk, Kurgan — Ufa — Almetyevsk, Nizhnevartovsk — Kurgan — Kuybishev, Surgut — Gorkiy — Polotsk, Kholmogory — Klin, and a total of 45 underwater crossings. The Irtysh river alone has four pipeline crossings. The total length of oil pipelines, if measured as a single-line stretch, is 1650 km, with an average of 750 thousand tons of hydrocarbons transported daily.
