In 1987, American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASPRS) issued a strong position against autologous fat grafting to the breast ; "The committee is unanimous in deploring the use of autologous fat injection in breasts augmentation". Just twenty years have passed since then. We reviewed previous papers based on "Ebidence-Based Medicine (EBM)" as described by The Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, and discussed about them. In the results, the paper of Coleman et al. and Missana et al. seems to be EBM level 3b, and it was considered that these reports are expected to play an important role in fat grafting to the breast.
