During the last 60 years, Japanese educational systems have stressed that "no competition" and "peaceful coexistence are the two most important Japanese educational principles.　 Unfortunately, based upon these principles, the recent young Japanese college graduates believe that they function as team members and must function peacefully and harmoniously in the team. No one is special. In this environment, ambition to succeed as the leader does not exist because exhibiting leadership is not good in Japan. The attitude is to peacefully obey any request of a senior member of the organization. The majority of today s older leaders were often educated through the old-fashioned, pre-second world war system which encouraged competition. This author belongs to this group of Japanese.
