The problem of developing cooperative plant-wide human-machine interfaces (HMI), which turns out to be one of the most actual tasks at present is considered. Three following aspects of the problem are discussed: developing theoretical foundations, developing HMI models for specific plants (or for their types), specific projects realization (the fourth aspect - the firmware base - is the best developed one). The results of developing the cooperative HMI model based upon the control system study fora class of continuous production, plants using The models on all four hierarchical levels are presented.
