Service customization functionality in unified IP service control architecture

摘要

The authors proposed a unified IP service control architecture (EaseNet: Environment-adaptive services network) based on the enhanced mobile communication scheme. EaseNet provides each residential and mobile user with customized IP services in IP networks and also has the service customization functionality. This functionality enables users to customize their network service parameters (ex. QoS service grades) for themselves and realizes flexible service environment. This paper describes the concept of EaseNet architecture, the outline of service customization capability, and our prototype implementation. The prototype system utilizes AAA protocol called DIAMETER and Mobile IP, which are studied at IETF to make IP mobility authentication and authorization scalable among the mobile nodes the foreign agents and the home agents.
