In order to manufacture car body parts by stamping without fracture, wrinkle and poor dimensional accuracy, it is necessary to define artificial shape and structural design suited to stamping, and take countermeasures against troubles into stamping die design. However, it is difficult to balance good commodity, cost and formability even if expert engineer does, correction and adjustment on physical dies, change of die design, sometimes change of artificial and structural design occur. In order to predict stamping troubles and take countermeasure into design, stamping simulation is most effective. By making database of material property and tuning of simulation parameter, prediction of fracture and wrinkle, occur in drawing process, has already come up to practical use and used in stamping process design. Moreover, development has been done to predict fracture, wrinkle and dimensional error through all stamping processes, suitable simulation parameter for bending and flanging process have been clarified, and the prospect of practical use was able to be set up now By practical use of stamping simulation, trial after manufacturing die has been reduced by countermeasures against fracture and wrinkle. Additionally, die shape had been optimized by spring-back analysis through all stamping processes, and dimensional accuracy can be improved.
