Snap bean (Pkaseolus vulgaris L.) often undergoes high temperature stress during its growth period in subtropical Okinawa, Subsequent yield losses are associated with abscission of flowers, young pods and or lack of pollination, Genotypic differencesoccur for these characters. In many studies, it has been emphasized that cultivar Haibushi is tolerant to high temperature stress because it yields satisfactorily under these conditions Plant water status plays an important role in maintaining the temperature and physiological activity in the plants. Therefore, internal tissue water status of two cultivars, Haibushi (high temperature tolerant type) and Kentucky Wonder (high temperature sensitive type) was investigated.
