Before 2011, Transport Corporation of America wasn't exactly small potatoes. The Eagan, Minn.-based company already had more than 1,000 trucks and drivers and nearly 4,000 trailers. But thanks to the company's January acquisition of Birmingham, Ala.-based Southern Cal Transport, Transport America now boasts more than 2,200 drivers and more than 350 teams.
