Clinical evaluation of N-acetylation process in ulcer disease comlicated with bleeding and perforation

The authers investigated 36 patients with complicated gastroduodenal ulcer and healthy subjects (control group). The N-acetyltraispherase was determined by percentage of acetylated form of sulphademisine content. Results of investigations showed that there was significant correlation between the level of acetilation and general health condition of patients in the group of slow acetylators. The results obtained suggested that it would be advisable to use identification of the type of acetylation as criteria of prognosis of the clinical course of complicated ulcer disease.
