'Voicing' considerations in laryngeal transplantation: A commentary of the Royal College of Surgeons working party final report

The recent Royal College of Surgeons Working Party Final Report worked within a clear remit to summarise current evidence and expert opinion to formulate the correct approach to laryngeal transplantation within the United Kingdom. The notion of a professional body approaching transplantation in this way is well established with an analogous Royal College of Surgeons committee reviewing face transplantation. Laryngeal transplantation does not, perhaps, provoke the same degree of potential moral squeamishness as face transplantation; yet, there exist a number of unique issues warranting examination and open discussion.
