Here we describe two cases of failure of niter reexpan-sion during unsuccessful retrieval of the Option IVC filter. Each case was attempted by a different subspecialty-certified interventional radiology attending physician, both of whom have extensive experience in IVC filter retrieval. In neither case was there caval thrombus or a preexisting caval or pericaval abnormality.
