1,9-Nonanedioldiacctate and 1,7-heptanedioldiacetate were synthesized from aleuritic acid (9,10,16-trihydroxyhexadecanoic acid), for the first time adopting simple procedure. Both the compounds showed mosquito re-peilant activity.
