摘要

We investigated the temperature characteristic of a longitudinally-pumped Yb:YAG disk laser to determine the geometric size required for optimal base-surface cooling. We found the worst ratio of disk thickness to pump beam size, which resulted in the worst cooling condition. The results showed that the disk temperature did not strongly depend on the disk diameter, but did strongly depend on the disk thickness and the pump beam size.
