There are numerous methods in determining the brain related activities with the help of EEG. Our current requirement confines the usage of EEG in cognitive status determination using the headset fixed onto a bulletproof helmet for an ambulatory soldier in a war scenario, which effectively distinguishes from the diagnostic evaluation of the EEG data by conventional methods. Here the consciousness level of the soldier is the index of his battle worthiness and is measured with specific frequency analysis of the real-time EEG data. The current method focuses on conscious level determination of an ambulatory subject using the elliptical IIR filters, db4 wavelets, Welch method based power spectral density, and k-means clustering. The raw EEG data obtained from a DAQ is suitably processed using the above processes respectively to interpret the consciousness levels.
