摘要

This paper presents the implementation aspects of a microcontroller based multi-axis motion control system. The system has been developed using an ATmega16 microcontroller, which is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller. Motion control code for the system has been developed on a Windows based Laptop/PC using open source software "Eclipse'. The developed code is downloaded into the memory of microcontroller unit (MCU) using a USB-ISP link. An interface and driver circuit (IDC) board has been designed and developed to interface ATmega16 microcontroller to the motion control motors. The developed motion control system has the capability to drive four axes of DC motors. Major applications of the presented system include robotics and industrial automation.
