GSM based LAN controlling system

摘要

The focus of this paper is to present a low cost and simple approach to design intelligent LAN controlling system, using the concept of mobile to machine and machine to mobile communication. Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) has been one of the best trustable wireless communications systems that can be accessed and used very easily with ubiquity. GSM based LAN controlling system helps preventing unauthorized use of devices and software in a network by remotely controlling the network. Apart from the major functions of monitoring and controlling through SMS, additional functionalities such as generating reports, keeping logs in historical database are provided through the system. Proposed system is divided in two modules as Manager and Agent. Manager is networked operating system application that runs on server and Agent is operating system service which runs on each client. Platform selected for modules is .Net.
