PREPARATION, SPECTRAL AND THERMAL DECOMPOSITION KINETICS OF CHROMIUM COMPLEX WITH BENZOIC ACID

Chromium metal has played a prominent role in the development of inorganic chemistry. Chromium compound exists in an unusually large number of formal oxidation states. Hexavalent chromium is a powerful oxidant and finds a number of applications in organic synthesis. One of the synthetic routes for the preparation of chromium (III) compounds is the reduction of CrO3 by ethanol in the presence of various appropriate species. In this manner, a mixed hydrous chromium (III) oxide and amorphous hydrous chromium (III) phosphates have been prepared.
