Effect of Integrated Nutrient Management on Soil Fertility, Yield and Quality of Tomato and French Bean Crops in the Mid Himalayas

In mid-Himalayan region, continuous exclusive and imbalanced use of costly chemical fertilizers in commercial tomato and French bean crop has led to decrease in plant nutrient uptake efficiency and crop yield (Parmar et al. 2007). Moreover, in the region, farmyard manure (FYM) is scarce and costly chemical fertilizers are not much affordable to poor hill farmers. Therefore, study was conducted to evaluate the effect of conjoint use of chemical fertilizers and organics on soil fertility, yield and quality of tomato and French bean crops.
