摘要

Mustard is an important edible rabi oilseed crop of Rajasthan. Although, it is a major oilseed crop yet its productivity in the state (1266 kg ha~(-1)) is much lower than its realizable yield potential of 2200-2400 kg ha~(-1). Thus, there is a great scope for increasing the production of mustard by bringing more area under cultivation and increasing its productivity by applying balanced fertilization and maintaining soil fertility status. Survey of Indian soils under AICRP micronutrients has revealedthan on an average 41% of the Indian soils are deficient in S with widespread occurrence in the coarse textured soils. The deficiency of S is emerging fast in areas under continuous use of S-free fertilizers like DAP and urea etc. Adoption of intensivecropping system with high yielding varieties has leads to the emergence of Zn deficiency. Keeping in view the present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of sulphur and zinc on yield, content and uptake by mustard.
