It is my proud privilege that I have been invited by the President, Varanasi Chapter of the Indian Society of Soil Science to deliver 6th Dr. R.S. Murthy Memorial Lecture instituted as a glowing tribute to Late Dr. R.S. Murthy, a splendid Soil Scientist of modern era particularly in the realm of Pedology, Soil Survey and Land Use Planning. I feel myself honoured in having been provided this opportunity by the Indian Society of Soil Science.
