摘要

Two sulfureted oleic acid derivatives, named SBO and SOO, respectively, were synthesized and characterized. The tribological properties of SBO, SOO as additives to base oil (PAO) were tested by a four-ball machine. The results showed that SBO had some excellent load-carrying capacities, good anti-wear and friction-reducing properties under the full test conditions. When the PAO contained 0.75% SBO, the wear scar diameter and the friction coefficient were reduced by 73% and 69%, respectively. The surface morphology and the elemental composition of the tribofilms, lubricated by SBO and SOO, were investigated using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that a tribological protective film, containing FeOx and FeSO4, had been formed under boundary lubricating conditions during friction.
